  1. For search engine optimising try to target less competitive keywords, for example, instead of "car insurance" use "convicted drivers car insurance". This not only helps you gain higher placement in search engine results but will drive more targeted traffic, meaning more sales.
  2. Choose a subject you are familiar with, for example, a hobby or your career. This could be an interest in cars so you could look at a custom car website or car sales etc.
  3. Focus on quality unique content. By all means have a look on the internet to see what every one else is doing but try and come up with something of your own. You'll soon learn that it's not a quick easy buck but the more time and effort you put in to your affiliate marketing websites the more they will return.
  4. Don't wait for your first site to start earning revenue. As soon as it's setup starting thinking about, planning and implementing your next venture.
  5. Copy sells better than banners. Banners have there place but you will need good quality sales copy for people to click through.
